It is said that you cannot know where you are going unless you know where you have come from. The history of a community is more than a storied totem, it is a carved statement that validates a people, that defines them, shapes them, and to which they return when hope and courage is asked of them.

This is what Dwight Baer came to appreciate while leading the northern Manitoba community of God’s Lake Narrows in creating a website for their school. As everyone gathered pictures and stories of the past and present, a unique and powerful expression emerged. Once published, it drew the attention of others. The exceptional journey of God’s Lake Narrows attracted exceptional teachers who resonate with the hope and vision of this remarkable community
